Building your own list is one of the most important aspects of becoming successful online. It’s not just about making money but building relationships with your subscribers and helping them develop into successful marketers themselves.

Here is a list of reasons why list building is crucial if you want to become successful online.

Firstly you capture your visitors contact information, a visitor who has shown an interest in your chosen niche. This means you will be able to send straight to their inbox any information you please. It is proven that it takes people to see an opportunity more than 5 times before they will act on it.

So you can send out various broadcasts to your list including your own products, affiliate products or your joint venture products, some of these subscribers will become buyers off of you and so this is the start of making money from your list.

Some others will not respond straight away to your emails but this is ok too because you will be able to stay in contact with them because they opted in to your squeeze page.

The next thing to consider is building trust with your subscribers. You can offer all sorts of freebies to your list including, software, eBooks, scripts, articles or whatever else you feel will help them become successful.

By offering freebies to your list you will be building trust with them because you’re not trying to sell to them with every email. This is a great way to treat your list, if you try to sell via every email you will have more unsubscribing than subscribing and this isn’t a very good business model.

By sending out good quality information and freebies your trust levels will rise. Slip in an advertisement and watch as your subscribers turn into customers.

And finally building a list allows your subscribers to get to know you. You become a real person to them and not some website selling information products. The internet can be a faceless place and by giving people your story you are another step closer to making that sale.

Building a list can be very rewarding and a must in my opinion. Follow the guidelines of building trust with your subscribers, proving to them you’re a real person and offer them valuable products for free, you will go a long way to making big money online.
