A Great Program To Generate Quality Backlinks For Your Websites
Today I’m going to tell you about a great free site I use to build safe backlinks for my websites and blogs, called The Free Traffic System.
What do I mean by ‘backlinks’, and why are they important?
First of all, think about how search engines find your webpages or blogs: by crawling the web and spidering sites that are linked to one another. If your webpage has no other pages linking to it, how can a search engine find it? Sure you can manually submit your website to the search engines (or pay handsomely to have an SEO company do it for you) and this may result in your pages being indexed, but if you don’t have other sites linking to yours, you will not appear very highly in search results for your chosen keywords. Naturally, the more competitive the keywords you’re chasing, the more results there will be to a search, and the more important it is for your site to appear high-up in the rankings if you want to get any traffic at all. Remember that the vast majority of people will not look beyond the first 20-30 results, so even if your page comes in at 500 out of 200,000,000 results it may as well not exist.
Think about the keywords in one of my blogs. The title is ‘Working From Home’. A quick search of that term on Google brings back about 150,000,000 results (without quotes) and some 4,030,000 (with quotes). Clearly, if I were going to chase that keyword I would have a hell of a fight on my hands! I have however started to receive a lot more hits from searches on Google for less competitive keyword phrases since I started to use The Free Traffic System, and I’ll explain why in a moment.
Search engines rank your pages according to how important they consider them to be. Taking Google as the example, they ascribe their own ‘page rank’ points sytem to every page they index, ranging from 0 to 10. Now few people know how Google really works, but it seems quite obvious that if you have a link to your site coming from a page ranked 10, it will be worth a lot more than a link from a page with a 0 rank. So to be considered ‘important’ by the search engines, you need links to your site from other ‘important’ sites, and the more links you have, the more highly will you appear in search results for your targeted keywords. I’ll talk more about other SEO tactics in other posts, but for now lets just deal with backlinks.
So, one way to get backlinks is to search the internet for sites similar to your own, contact the webmasters and request a reciprocal link exchange. This is time consuming but can be worthwhile. Another is to use auto-backlink generators like backlink spider, but this can be unsafe (more in a moment). You could also submit your sites to directories, but again this is time consuming and of limited effect – Google will mostly ignore backlinks from directories as it considers them to be link farms.
So what do I mean by safelinks?
The first website I built myself was designed to have similar content to this blog. It was really a practice run for me just to learn a little about using Frontpage. I used a lot of free content from Hyper VRE and uploaded the site. I’d heard that having links was the best way to get noticed and indexed more quickly, so I searched the net for auto backlink generators and found a site called backlink spider, which I’m sure works well if used with caution and care, but for me (foolish novice that I was) simply caused my free hosting company to take my site down as spam. It works by adding a link directory, using a simple php script, to the sites of all it’s members. You add a links page to your website that runs their script, and basically lists a load of other sites that have joined their network. In return, your URL is added to links pages of other users, instantly generating up to 2000 backlinks, which I thought was good…
Unfortunately search engines (and, it seems, my free hosting company) don’t like this, and a little thought reveals why: you create a brand new site, and suddenly it has 2000 backlinks. What SE algorithm would not find this suspicious?
So, you need a way to get safelinks, and this is where (finally I hear you say) The Free Traffic System comes in. You join The Free Traffic System for free, post an article, using keywords of your choice, select up to 30 blogs from their list, and the site will publish your article to those blogs. Each article you submit can contain 2 links of your choice. This means that each article you write can create up to 60 backlinks for your sites. Rather than flooding the web with your article and suddenly creating all these backlinks, The Free Traffic System will publish your article just once or twice a day, which prevents any danger of your links being unsafe.
The site also allows you to ’spin’ article content, reducing the amount of identical content published. For more information about spinning, you can see the training video on The Free Traffic System’s website.
So in summary I can highly recommend The Free Traffic System if you want a good, safe and relatively easy way to generate quality backlinks to your sites.
